CARMEN Monographs and Studies seeks to explore the movements of people, ideas, religions and objects in the medieval period. We welcome publications that deal with the migration of people and artefacts in the Middle Ages, the adoption of Christianity in northern, Baltic, and east-central Europe, and early Islam and its expansion through the Umayyad caliphate. We also encourage work that engages with the histories of the Global South. The series welcomes interdisciplinary approaches that explicitly incorporate material culture.
